My Approach
Toronto based, I work with individuals of all ages who want to gain control over the emotions, feelings, and situations that keep them stuck. Offering a safe space to explore their experiences without fear of judgment, we work together to improve mental health and well-being.
As the parent of a teen myself, I especially love working with teenagers. When dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, or self-harm, I work with teens and their parents as a team, looking at the whole ecosystem of the family while helping them face life’s challenges and opportunities, together.
I meet with clients in person at my home office in Toronto (near the Beaches) as well as virtually via phone and Zoom, which allows my client reach to extend across Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
I’m here to collaborate with you.
As a Gestalt therapist, I take a relational, client-centered approach to psychotherapy. Instead of a hierarchical, top-down approach (i.e., therapist as ‘expert’), my clients and I co-create the relationship together. We focus on the ‘here and now’ and try to understand what is happening in the moment, rather than getting stuck in perceptions of what might have been based on previous experiences.
Focusing on self-awareness, Gestalt therapy is particularly helpful in addressing issues like anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief, loss, and relationship difficulties. Taking a creative, body-centric approach, Gestalt techniques can be used in combination with body work, dance, art, drama, and other creative therapies that fit each individual.
Through the Gestalt process, we work to bring negative thought patterns and behaviours into awareness to unblock realizations of true self-awareness and happiness.
